How We
Work |
We believe,
first and foremost, in the importance of grassroots
organizing. That is, we work from the bottom up. We're
not about going straight to the top, changing laws, and
then having people implement them. And we're not about a
small group of elites telling other less fortunate women
what needs to be changed in their lives and how they
should change it.
Instead, we want different women from the different
communities within the Lebanese society to tell us about
their lives and their concerns, and propose their own
solutions to their problems. We want the vastest amount
of women to learn what their rights are and to come
together and change, not just the law, but the way
society sees us and the way we see ourselves.
And the best way to do that is by promoting a positive
attitude of strength and a belief that when we work
together, we are able to make a change in the world. We
work not only through exposing the problems in our
society, but by constantly coming up with creative and
efficient ways to improve our lives on the personal,
social, economic and political levels.
